Enam Chowdhury

Chef Enam Chowdhury has spent his entire career in the upper echelon of hospitality with over 30 years of experience in luxurious hotels and restaurants in Great Britain, Thailand, South Africa, Italy and the USA. He is an acclaimed chef & maître d, and a master of cheese with a Fromateur de Fromage designation certified by the Artisanal Cheese Company and La Picholine, New York. Enam sharpened his skills locally at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, but it was the position of Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director for Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards which brought him to Northeast Texas. His cuisine ranges from Asia to Europe and the Americas. Currently the Executive Chef at The Chophouse on Bankhead in Mount Vernon, Chef Enam brings his special touch to the growing epicurean scene in Northeast Texas.  Market on Main - Cooking Demo @ 4:00pm  at the Main Street Tent.


Oscar Cruz

A native of San Diego, California, Chef Oscar Cruz embarked on his culinary journey at Le Cordon Blue in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2007. He completed an externship at the AAA 5 Diamond Restaurant, The Boulders Waldorf Astoria, working under Phoenix celebrity Chef Gregory Weiner. He later became the Executive Chef at Postinos Wine Cafe in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Oscar continued to hone his skills at Tonto Verde Country Club, and later at AAA 5 Diamond Restaurants, Cork and NOCA, which were both nominated for James Beard awards. In 2013, Oscar ventured out to open a food truck in Tucson, Arizona, where he served casual food with a gourmet twist.  To grow his skill set further, Oscar relocated to Texas as the Executive Chef of 24 Plates Restaurant where they won the Critics Choice Awards for Best Brunch and Best Appetizer in Forth Worth, Texas. This recognition provided him the opportunity to become the Sous Chef at Hageman Reserve in Sulphur Bluff. While that business never fully materialized, Oscar and his family fell in love with Mount Vernon and decided to stay, opening Mount Vernon Martial Arts and offering private catering and consulting. Now adding to these ventures, Oscar will also open a new restaurant in downtown Mount Vernon called El Caribe, featuring Caribbean street food and weekly specials in October 2018. Cristal Rodriguez

Cristal Castillo was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She attended NTCC in 2006 for the Culinary degree program. She has experience in the industry ranging from a winery to being Sous Chef at Thai Lana's. Later she attended Le Cordon Bleu and graduated as Iron Torque. While in Dallas she won the 2014 South Fork Ranch Iron Chef, Daniel Tester's Successful Culinarian, and Celebrity Chef Joq (the naked chef) “Best Vegan Recipe” award. Cristal also worked for the Adolphous Hotel, Stephen Pyles, Daniella McPherson, and Aramark. After a few years away, Cristal decided to bring her talents back home show she could raise her family. She is now working as the Executive Chef for the Marina on Lake Cypress Springs.  Market on Main Cooking Demo @ 1pm at the Main Street Tent



Cole Allen

On the rural roots songwriter side of Americana and equipped with acoustic guitar, harmonica, and Farmer Foot Drums, Cole Allen delivers simple, sophisticated lyrics with the grit of a one-man-show. Musical influences include: Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Hayes Carll, James McMurtry, Robert Earl Keen, and Adam Carroll. Performing: Market on Main @ 3:00pm



Gus Gustafson and Jinjer Markle

When Gus Gustafson isn't involved with Community Development duties for "Small Town USA" in East Texas, he stays busy as a Singer/Songwriter, and has also achieved a United States Patent for his invention--The Ultimate Finger Pick. He's got a new album available, too, entitled, "Life's What You Make It" Come to Mt. Vernon and get you a copy! Performing: Market on Main@ 4:30pm


Heather Little

Heather's songwriting success includes such blockbuster hits as "Me and Charlie Talkin," & "Gunpowder and Lead", both co-written with and recorded by country music superstar, Miranda Lambert.   Performs: Market on Main @ 1:30 pm


Jim and Melanie Cleveland

Jim and Melanie met while performing music at Rossini’s restaurant in Nacogdoches while attending SFA. They were both servers but she was also an accompanist and played for him. Their love of music brought them together and has sustained them for 36 + years. They cover everything from Jimmy Buffet to Frank Sinatra to Waylon Jennings and all things in between. Around these parts they are known as the “Von Clevelands”. Their whole family is TALENTED! Performing: Market on Main@5:30 pm


Keith Allen

We are pleased to welcome Keith Allen back to the Mount Vernon Food and Wine Festival. Keith is the quintessential guy with a guitar and covers everyone from The Beatles to Willie to George Jones. Mathew Tuttle

Mathew started his musical career in the upper Mid-West and spent many years performing throughout the Austin area with various groups and as a solo artist. Everyone will recognize and enjoy the songs he plays from James Taylor, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon and others--and his own tunes are heavily influenced by those artists. His smooth style creates a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for sipping some wine while enjoying his beautiful music!   Performing: Market on Main @ 12 pm





A jazz trio featuring Mike McGowan on keyboard and sax, Joey Monk on drums, Kevin Kelley on bass, and beautiful vocals by Christy Huggins. All members of the ensemble play regularly with big band and jazz ensembles throughout the region. Mike is an accomplished sax and keyboard player, holding a master's degree in composition and theory, who taught for 33 years and is now an active performer, arranger and composer in the East Texas area. Kevin is a retired college music instructor and often plays in the region. Joey has a diverse musical background and plays with various ensembles in the area.  Christy has performed extensively and has a deep respect for great female vocalists such as Rosemary Clooney, Julie London, Doris Day and Ella Fitzgerald.
